Interestingly, the place you never wanted to be is now the place you call comfort. For a couple of weeks now, I have been in a position of stagnation, but formally calling it downtime. I lost interest in developing the future I want, brainstorming conversation topics, my growth mindset, challenging myself, and my yearly goals. But, It didn't feel like a loss of interest; it felt more like a change in direction. I was moving one degree off every day. I became more focused on temporal, meaningless, and fruitless wants. But, as long as I went to work and mentioned I was working toward something, all was good. But it's not.

How do we find the desire to get back on track after being derailed? By figuring out what we want. What causes stagnation is the lack of knowing the next move to make. When you don't know the next move and have no interest in figuring it out, you stay put. But what if staying in place is causing more harm than just making a move? If the step is wrong, it's okay because this gives us more knowledge on how to make the right one.
I also believe in surrounding ourselves with people who ignite a passion or drive. That keeps us on our toes and gently pushes us out of stagnation. People who challenge us to be that better version of ourselves we yearn to be. Who we want to be and where we want to go has to be more important than who we are and where we are now. It's easy to get comfortable with what's in front of us. Remember, today's complacency is tomorrow's captivity.
Helpful tips:
Figure out what you want. - Start small; figure out where you want to go and how you will get there.
Find people who challenge you. - Start conversing with people, not in your day-to-day, and learn something new. It might pique your interest.
Keep your eye on the prize. - This goes back to figuring out what you want from life, having small goals to get you there, and setting a plan. The way to maintain focus is to stay focused.
不怕慢, 就怕停。 (bú pà màn, jiù pà tíng.) – “Don’t be afraid of going slow; just be afraid of stopping/standing still. *Chinese Proverb*

“Todays complaceny is tomorrow‘s captivity” Love this. Sociteal standards are a burden. Who is to say what’s considered complacent? Must we always be striving for the next best thing or are we allowed to just exist and be comfortable?
This is honestly so motivating and written so perfectly
This is great. I love " the way to maintain focus is to stay focused." Isn't that a word :-).
