Make Peace and Move On

In life, there are choices all around us. Will we stay home or go out? Will we order takeout or cook at home? Of course, these are minor compared to other decisions we have to make daily. However, there comes a point in our lives when we are met with a fork in the road. Will we continue to follow the familiar road or choose to do something new? Sometimes familiarity is chosen due to comfort, reliability, or certainty. But we have to ask ourselves: is it sustainable? Is it worth it?

Recently, I have been given the space to finally face the fork in the road. Making a move has made a slight yet noticeable difference. I always think of this illustration: To know where you want to go, you must first acknowledge where you currently are and where you've already been. The reason I titled this piece 'Make Peace and Move On' is because someone reading this needs to know that the past doesn't define you, previous choices, whatever those might be, don't define you, and most importantly, where you come from does not, in any way, define your future.
"Once you realize you deserve a bright future, letting go of your dark past is the best choice you will ever make." - Roy T. Bennet
