Is It Really Helping you

Is complaining really helping you? Like sit there while you read this and actually think how has complaining about something pushed you forward to where you want to be. If it has then I guess a congratulations are in order, but if not think of how you can change it.

Complaining doesn't get you anywhere as many adults have told me. It leaves you in the same place you began. Nothing moves and everything stands still. I complain a lot, and I use to tell myself I'm not complaining, I'm just venting. I found loopholes to complain, because it made me think the situations I got myself into would be easier, but it just prolongs the inevitable. Plus, with all the time spent complaining, I could have been finding ways to tackle what seems to be bothering me.

But don't get me wrong, how many of us still find ourselves complaining. I think its something we do so reguarly that when it happens, we don't even realize. So how do we change something that happens so often and very casually? We buckle down and get more aware of every thought that comes to our minds, every action we are planning to take, and every sentence we begin to say. When we become more aware of how we think and act daily, we soon are able to tackle negative or unhelpful thoughts or actions as soon as they present themselves and change the narrative before it becomes another notch in the belt of things that no longer serve us.

"You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas 💡"

- SHIRLEY CHISHOLM

And of course this will not happen over night, but if we take changing unhelpful patterns seriously we can change one day into day one. From all the information I have gathered and situations I have lived through, I now know that life should be about finding that best version of you and being that every day. Because why wouldn't you want to feel good about yourself and your life every day and not just when something good happens for you. So, lets learn not to always complain but to reframe our thinking, refocus on the things we are able to change and not on what we can't. Again, things won't change over night, but we have to be committed to getting to the other side of complaining and doing something about the issue at hand.
