Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who am I?

When you look in the mirror, what do you see?

Do you see a person as the best version of themselves? Do you see a happy person staring back at you?

How about a sad person, or maybe you don't recognize the person staring back at all. You've drifted away so far from that one idea of yourself, that now at this moment, you realize that was the only thing that kept you intact. Maybe you were given a label from many people -- people whose words mattered to you. These labels they attached to you became your identity that you tried your best to fit into -- though the shoe didn't quite fit, you made it your mission to provide into the box they've created for you.

I understand this feeling; I know this feeling. But what I will say is if your reflection and this person is everything you could've ever dreamed of, then congratulations, I'm proud of you and happy for you! However, if you haven't reached that point in your life, let me tell you this, The Glow Up is in The Show Up!

"It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. I have learned that it is no one else's job to take care of me but me. - Beyoncé Knowles-Carter

Okay so, you need to work on your anger; take one step today that changes that behavior. Maybe instead of spewing angry words towards people, breathe and think about what you'll say next. You need healing from your past but don't know how to, search the internet and find a therapist you feel would be the best fit and make the call—anything to get you from where you are now. I'll say this, once you begin to make the hole, you're in a home before you know it, you'll get comfortable, and today's Comfortability is tomorrow's captivity. Do not remain captive when you have the opportunity to get better. Of course, some people do not even know the extent of their behaviors, causing their reflections in the mirror to seem off; maybe they blame others for everything, not knowing they are the issue. Until they become aware of their problems and want to change for themselves, a happy reflection will never come about. Or maybe it could, a facade of a satisfying reflection in the mirror. But, how long will it last?

When you take care of yourself, you're a better person for others. When you feel good about yourself, you treat others better.

Solange Knowles
