The Danger of Envy

“Steer clear of envy and harmful desires. These feelings can tear down our abilities to focus on what’s truly important. If you’re focused on someone else’s life, who is focused on yours?”
Social media has made such an impact on our everyday lives that we are envious of others. Whether we speak about it or not. This could be temporary or long-lasting envy. We are so worried and concerned about looking, acting, sounding, and being like everything we see. Social media has made it so accessible that someone in New Jersey can see the lifestyle of someone in California and want to follow suit. Want to be that and more, not taking into account that we all have different lifestyles, perspectives, experiences, and internal gifts for a reason. We follow everything that gets the most views or likes and forget to take a good look at all the great things we do have. So much time is spent focused on how we can get what others have, just so we can have the same applause and approval as the next person. Again, everyone’s ladder isn’t the same. So, I pose the question again, if you’re focused on someone else’s life, who is focused on yours? We can’t be everyone else and still try to be ourselves. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s time we take a step back and find the things that make us special again, take a step back and fall in love with our specifically tailored life again. Take a step back and love the season we're in.
It was when I realized I needed to stop trying to be somebody else and be myself, I actually Started to own, accept and love what I had

"Take a step back and find the things that make us special again" this line hits hard 👏🏾👏🏾
